Vox becomes first Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Authorised Training Partner

Monday, October 24th, 2016

Vox has become the first ALE (operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand) authorised Training Partner and has launched a training academy to meet the growing demand for highly skilled resources in the enterprise communications services and solutions market.

Says Henda Edwardes, Executive Head of Communications at Vox, “By creating a local facility, we are hoping to expand the training opportunities available to all Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise customers and partners, across the continent, and provide greater access to world class training and skills development.”

The course material and training academy curriculum is the same as that which is delivered internationally at training centres in USA (Boston & Los Angeles), Mexico, Brazil (Sao Paulo), UK (London) , Italy (Milano), Greece (Athens), France (Brest & Paris), Germany (Stuttgart) and Russia (Moscow). The costs and duration of the training will differ depending on the modules, topics and certification sought but with the added benefit of reduced travel costs and out of office time.

“With our partners, we co-create a personalised, connected experience that delivers tangible outcomes for our customers and their end-users. The Vox Telecom Academy is an integral arm to ALE in delivering the knowledge and skills that enable delivery of these outcomes in this experience economy.

This partnership further aligns with ALE’s journey in becoming a Cloud Service Provider with disruptive new models of delivering our Communications and Networking portfolios to market, whilst building and maintaining local skills to execute on delivery to our customers and their end-users” says Ravin Naidu, Regional Sales Director, Southern Africa at ALE

The objective of the Training Academy, is to provide all Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Partners with certified training across sales, pre-sales and technical capabilities, as well as offering ALE customers with end-user training.

The Training Academy is being housed at the Vox campus in Waverley, Johannesburg, and can accommodate approximately 8-12 people per course, to ensure comprehensive access to trainers, equipment and learning materials.

Features of the academy include lab facilities for live practice of theory, individual learning (learners will work on their own equipment and individual computers); virtual learning on pre-course sessions and electronic training material for ease of reference and onsite assistance.

“There is a growing, and continued need to develop and retain high level technical skills, and this academy represents a solid, and reputable first step for us, as we aim to become a leading training provider for the ICT industry,” concludes Edwardes.
