A Deco network can handle a mix of IoT products, smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and peripherals, such as wireless printers. The Deco E4 can connect up to 100 client devices.

The TP-Link Deco E4 pack includes two identical Deco units that can be placed wherever you need WiFi most in your home. During setup, you will choose one Deco unit to serve as your primary device. It will connect to your router to enable internet access for your home. From there, additional Deco units can be placed in any room, and each Deco unit will automatically detect and configure the others to create a seamless WiFi system.
While you could use a single Deco unit as a stand-alone router, Deco works best when multiple units work together as part of a system. One Deco E4 2-pack has a range of up to 260 sq. metres and most homes will benefit best from the Deco 2-pack configuration. For larger coverage, you can add up to eight Deco units to the initial two.

Make sure your Android or iOS device has access to the Internet through cellular data or WiFi, then follow these steps:

Download the Deco app from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign up for a TP-Link ID in the Deco app.
Follow the instructions in the app to set up your primary Deco unit.
Continue following the instructions to add additional Deco units to your network.
Connect your wireless devices to your Deco network and enjoy!

When you have logged into the Deco app and set up your Deco units, the Dashboard page will be displayed.

Placing your Deco units is an important step towards enjoying fast, reliable WiFi. However, placement is not an exact science, and you may have to experiment with your Deco in different locations for optimal performance.

When setting up the slave Deco, the Deco app will guide you to place your Deco units when you select a different layout, below is the detailed instruction.

2. For the best experience, when wireless, the connection between the Deco units should be good.

3. Place your slave Deco refer to the tips in the link for optimal performance.

4. If your house is designed with wired Ethernet, hardwiring your Decos is always an option.

As we know, the wired connection is more stable and faster than the wireless connection. Thus, to provide a fast and reliable WiFi network to your room, the wired connection is a good choice if it’s available.

If you are experiencing remote connectivity issues with your Deco, this article will walk you through basic troubleshooting steps to resolve these issues.

Step 1.

Please check whether the mobile device with the Deco app installed has internet access or not when you are outside. If the mobile device doesn’t have Internet access, it won’t be unable to manage Deco remotely.

Step 2.

Check if the Deco units have Internet access. You can connect your phone to Deco’s WiFi and then go to the Internet on the phone to check.

If Deco doesn’t have Internet access, click here to troubleshoot.

Step 3.

Test if you can manage Deco via the Deco app in the local network. If not, reboot all the Deco units for a try.

Step 4.

If you can manage Deco in the local network but not remotely, try to change the DNS server on the Deco app.

If there’s something wrong with the Deco app, please try to do the below troubleshooting based on the problem you have.

Q: Can’t install the Deco app successfully

Deco app requires Android 4.4 or higher version, iOS 9.0 or higher OS version on your mobile device. If you encounter any installation problems, please kindly check and update the OS version on your mobile device.

Q: Deco app crashed

1. Uninstall the Deco app, then reinstall the latest Deco app on your phone.

2. Install the Deco app on another phone for a try.

Q: Fail to log in to the Deco app

1. Ensure you entered the correct email address and password when logging in.

2. Make sure the phone has Internet access. Open a browser and search something on the phone.

3. Connect the phone to another WiFi network for a try.

4. Uninstall and reinstall the Deco app, then open the app and log in.

The app will ask for WLAN/cellular permission during this process, kindly tick allow.

5. Use a different phone to download and install the Deco app, then try to log into the app again.
